Halloween 2015

Trunk or Treat
(October 25th)

The festivities were moved inside due to the rain

Halloween

I went to a craft fair/car show this afternoon

And then it was time to trick-or-treat!
(too bad it was raining)

Gulf Shores 2015: Final Thoughts

We left Gulf Shores around 9:00 Monday morning (October 19th).  We were going stay longer but Phillip didn't want to get back too late and we needed to get home to the dogs (Laurie stayed at our house while we were gone but left early that morning and would not be coming back).  We had a good trip.  Phillip ended up mowing the grass that afternoon (and he went to the grocery store later that evening) so it was probably best we got an early start.

7 things...

1.  We really needed this time away together.  I am so glad we did this!  (Fall break tradition?)

2.  We could have done more (gone more places (miniature golf, anyone?), walked out to the beach one last time before we left (I do kind of regret not doing that), eaten at neat restaurants, etc.) but I think we did okay considering 1) we still have a napper, 2) taking the girls out to eat is sometimes a waste (they ate in most meals and were happy to do so) and 3) the days were a little too short - another hour or two of daylight would have been nice.

3.  I was really pleased with our condo.  I liked the decor and the layout.  Great views.  And I cannot stress enough the convenience factor.  Everything was so close.

4.  I might want to move to Alabama.  Not to Gulf Shores necessarily, but just somewhere in the state.  Any suggestions?  We had no sinus issues while we were there.  It was delightful.

5.  "I'm never going to pet a seagull." - a very disappointed Lilly McCullough

6.  I am too embarrassed to share all of the items I should have brought on this trip, and had at home (which makes it even worse), but failed to bring.  Things like trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, etc.  I just didn't think of those things and that is not really like me (packing is my jam).  And I meant to grab the laundry detergent but it totally slipped my mind (I should have set it out the night before).  Good thing we were close to a Walmart.  I jotted down a list when we got back.  I'll do better next time.

7.  Lilly wants a hot tub for Christmas

Gulf Shores: Day 3 (last full day)

Sunday, October 18th

We planned to go out to the beach again Sunday morning but it was on the chilly side so we ended up at the indoor pool instead.  Good thing we put on all that sunscreen :)  We did eventually make our way to the sand.

Phillip and Ellen went to Lulu's while Lilly took a nap (and while I watched the end of the Broncos game).  Phillip took a few pictures for me (bonus points).  The ropes course was closed (sad face) but they had fun at the arcade.  And they bought me two magnets :)

We went to The Hangout for dinner.  The atmosphere was better than the food but we embraced it because VACATION.  We were going to go back to The Wharf and ride the Ferris wheel but Lilly got a rather large splinter that required minor surgery (tweezers) so we went back to the condo and decided not to venture out again.  Maybe next time.

Almost as good as the real thing :)

Full disclosure, I am the one who ended up getting the splinter out of Lilly's finger :)

Peaceful night
