Memorial Day Weekend 2014: Part 4

Sunday was our last full day in North Carolina (we left Monday morning around 10).  Church at South Fork (the kids enjoyed KFC), K&W for lunch (had to settle for turkey pot pie instead of the usual chicken but it was still good), naps (me and Phillip included), church again and then dinner out for me, Phillip, Andrea and Caleb while Mom and Dad watched all five of the kids.  Ellen spent the night with Ashling so after saying our goodbyes to Mom and Dad (and Rocky), we stopped by Andrea and Caleb's house to pick her up.  We were all sad to go (Lilly was excited at first until she realized Grandmother and Granddaddy weren't coming with us) but Ellen was especially heartbroken.

Ellen judges restaurants based on their name (first impressions are key!) and highly resists going to one with a name she doesn't like.  Thankfully she has never complained about going to my beloved K&W.

We had a nice trip.  It was great seeing family and friends and celebrating Ashling's birthday.  It is always good to be home.

Memorial Day Weekend 2014: Part 3

Saturday... yard work (and roof work), lunch at Elizabeth's (me, Phillip and Lilly), more lawnmower rides, movies for the three older kids with Grandmother and Granddaddy (Mr. Peabody and Sherman at the bargain theater) and Ashling's family birthday party.

(Ellen was still at the sleepover.  Cade spent the night with us at Grandmother and Granddaddy's house.)
