...

The Williamson County Fair will be in town August 4th-12th.

...

My Dad will be here the 10th-15th!  He is helping out with childcare/transportation while I transition from one job to another (details below) and he will be painting our kitchen ceiling.  He patched a hole for us a few months ago and it's ready for paint.  (I have the best dad!)

...

Phillip will celebrate his 38th birthday on the 13th :)

...

What we refer to as "crazy kindergarten week" is right around the corner.  Lilly has testing on the 10th (for some reason she's been calling it kindergarten test-out), Kindergarten Camp on the 14th, a half day on either the 16th or 17th (determined once they know who her teacher is going to be), Parent Orientation on the 17th and she has another half day on the 18th.  It feels like a lot.

...

Phillip's parents and brother will be in Nashville August 24th-27th.

...

Ellen is going to Isabella's birthday party on the 26th.

...

Lilly's last day of daycare was July 28th.  We made it!  Both girls will be in school.  Both girls will be at the same school (even if it's only for one year).  Can you hear the angels singing?

...

After 13.5 years of working full-time at Acceptance Insurance (in various capacities), my second job out of college (State Farm was the first), I am calling it quits.  Eek!  My last day will be August 11th.  It was a tough decision (and a big one!) but the right decision.

I have taken a position at Sunshine Day School (affiliated with our church).  I will be the assistant teacher in the 3-4 year old class Monday-Thursday (it is a 2 day program so I will have the same kids M-W and another group on T-TH).

Is it my dream job?  No.  But I am okay with that.  I may love it and teach there several years or I may be one and done.  Either way, I am excited to see what the future holds.

The first day of school is not until August 23rd but between now and then I have a teacher meeting, two work days and two Sunshine Smile Days - where the kids and parents meet the teachers. (I took a CPR class last month.)

My hours will be 9:15-2:45 so I will be able to take the girls to school and pick them up (but we may have them ride the bus home).  Sunshine School follows the Williamson County calendar so I will be home with the girls when they are out of school (one of many perks).  I am also looking forward to having Fridays off (for now at least) and no more long commute!

This changes a lot of things for us.  Most of the changes are positive but there are a couple of negatives.  It's going to be a challenge financially (like, we may not be able to make it on essentially one income) and Ellen is really upset that she will no longer be going to SACC (before and after care) with her friends (but I am applying to work at morning SACC so she is happy about that).  The good outweighs the bad but this will definitely be an adjustment for all of us on some level.

She knows me so well

Ellen: Why do we have to go to the store?  Why can't Mommy go?

Phillip: We are helping her out.  (They were picking up a prescription for me.)

Ellen: She's being lazy.  She just doesn't want to put on pants.

I can't deny it!

Disney Springs! (the cherry on top)

Saturday, May 27th

Our flight wasn't until 7:35 p.m. and since we had not purchased park tickets for our last day, we decided to go to Disney Springs.  Next best thing, right?  We had to be back by 4:35 that afternoon to catch Magical Express but still had plenty of time to eat lunch and shop.

We had a leisurely morning at the resort.  We slept in, showered and then Phillip took the girls to get breakfast while I finished packing up.  We did the whole airline check-in thing and then rode the bus to Disney Springs.

We ate at Wolfgang Puck Express (used our last 3 meals credits) and went to several shops.  UNIQLO (a Japanese store), Once Upon a Toy and Tren-D were some of my favorites.

Just like at Disney World, we did not get to see and do everything, but I thoroughly enjoyed the hours we got to spend at Disney Springs.  So much so, I don't think we'll plan another Disney vacation that doesn't include a trip to Disney Springs.

We said one last goodbye to Mickey on our way out :)

We will miss that pool!

Love me some Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives :)

We had a rough flight home (it was good until it was bad).  A storm in the Nashville area kept us from landing and we ended up being in the air an extra 30-40 minutes, maybe longer (it felt like an eternity).  The lightning was intense.  It was like being on a never-ending roller coaster.  I had my sick bag out but thankfully did not have to use it.  Everyone cheered when we landed.  That is one plane ride I will never forget!

I know it looks like the pilot navigated us around the storm, but it sure felt like we flew right through it!

...

Andrea, Caleb and the kids were in Florida this week and were able to experience Pandora.  They got to ride Flight of Passage... after a 5 hour wait!  She sent me a few pictures.  It looks really neat!

...

Overall, we had a great Disney vacation and are already looking forward to the next one :)
