Matt and Rachel Potts (and big brother Wyatt) will welcome baby Bryce on July 3rd

Other news...

Phillip has a bad case of poison ivy (arms and legs).  He is slowly recovering.  And I do mean slowly.  It was a rough weekend (he was in a world of hurt).  I've lost count how many times we've said "Don't touch Daddy!" over the past 5 days.  On the bright side both girls now know when it comes to leaves of three, let them be!

My Grandmother is in the hospital.  She recently had pneumonia and is very weak.  She has had a few breathing treatments since being admitted.  Dad has been texting me updates.  She may go home (back to Pleasant Acres) tomorrow.  Sending her my love.

Back in the 6-1-5

We sure did miss this little ray of sunshine!

Ellen is home!

And all is right with the world.

She had a great time in North Carolina (so many memories!)  We didn't interrogate her too badly this afternoon but I am anxious to hear more about her trip (I'll let her get a good night's rest before I start in with the questions).

It just feels right for us to all be under the same roof again.

Welcome home, sweet girl.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Phillip's work picnic was this afternoon in Green Hills.  He had Korean tacos and Kona Ice (they had 2 or 3 different food trucks) and came away with a caricature (what's up with the yin yang?), a gray naviHealth t-shirt, two gift cards (Fandango and Macaroni Grill), a jar of jelly beans (he won the jelly bean guessing contest) and the title of Biggest Loser.  Biggest loser of mechanical bull riding, that is.  He lasted 4 seconds, the shortest amount of time of anyone.  But he got a gift card for his efforts so he's a winner in my eyes.  The top prize, two round-trip airplane tickets, went to a guy who made it 22 seconds.  So close yet so far away.  Better luck next time.

Birthdays and Anniversaries

To Phillip, with love (even though I have a few other "loves")

We had a somewhat celebratory weekend.

Our anniversary was Saturday.

Me:  Did you plan anything special?
Phillip:  No.  Did you?
Me:  No, but I don't think that's how it works.

We ended up in Brentwood.  We ate dinner at Chile Burrito (a little birdie told me they had good fish tacos), stopped in Petco to look at the animals (Lilly got to pet a bunny), picked up some socks at TJ Maxx (marry me and that's what you get if we make it 11 years) and then the three of us drove by Phillip's new office in Maryland Farms (we couldn't go in but we at least got to see his building).

Lilly wore this rainbow loom bracelet (made by Ellen) all day

The fun continued Sunday.  We worked around the house (inside and out) while Lilly napped and then met Laurie in Cool Springs later that afternoon.  She took Lilly to Chuck E. Cheese and McDonald's while Phillip and I saw Edge of Tomorrow.  Fun for the whole family!

And then yesterday I turned 34 + 1.  I can't say (or type) 35 without feeling a slight tightening in my chest.  I have been past my prime for a while now but as of 2 a.m. on June 23rd my age officially reflects it :)  Mom, Dad and Ellen(!) called to sing me Happy Birthday, I talked to Andrea on my way home from work and I got a few cards and texts (thanks everyone!)  Last night happened to be the annual Garden Party at Carol Terry's house which was a nice way to spend my birthday evening (despite the mosquitos).

Here's a peek at what Ellen was up to this weekend.  Neigh!

Fresh picked

We went to the Franklin Farmers Market this morning (first time) taking full advantage of a rare gymnastics-free Saturday (no Ellen = no gymnastics).

Phillip got a bacon, egg and cheese crepe from Crepe A Diem and Lilly and I shared two homemade doughnuts from Ellie's Old Fashioned Doughnuts... double chocolate and cinnamon sugar pumpkin.  So good (all of it).  We came to eat!  (Not really.  It just kind of happened.)

We were no match for those hardcore regulars, you know the ones, but I did buy two pounds of squash for a casserole I plan on making this weekend (it's been way too long).

 Ready to dig in
(Lilly says she'll stick with goldfish)
Happy Anniversary to this guy (11 years today)
