Not so observant

They sell Tide (and I guess all brands of detergent) specifically for high efficiency washing machines... and by mistake I bought a large bottle. What makes me mad is that I originally grabbed one with the blue he symbol and put it back. Somehow I still ended up buying he Tide! I used it for 4 or 5 loads not realizing this. Phillip is the one that noticed my blunder. Looking back, I did have to 2nd rinse all of those loads because there were still suds in the clothes after the regular wash/rinse cycle. There is a warning on the label that says not to use in a regular washing machine. I did continue to use it a couple more times until I was able to buy more (I am such a rebel). $14.00 down the drain! Well, probably only about $10.00 since I used it for several loads. Maybe I will just have to get a high efficiency washing machine so I don't waste it. If anyone can use this, let me know.

Kite Day and Easter Egg Hunt

Today we went to church for Kite Day and an Easter Egg Hunt.  It is a beautiful day!  I took a lot of pictures but none were all that great (very disappointed in my pictures lately).  We had fun though - and that is the most important thing.  Ellen loved walking/running around outside, looking at the kites, swinging, playing on the jungle gym (especially the tunnel) and watching the other kids.  She did not like the Easter Bunny.  He is a bit scary looking.  The egg hunt went well.  We headed out right after she collected her eggs - it was night night time - way past it, actually.  She fell asleep in the car and is now napping in her crib.  I have a feeling she will sleep for a while.  She was worn out!

Blue eyed beauty

Visitors

Phillip and his wonderful Grandma
Aunt Laurie and Grandma
Nancy and Kendra
Grandma Turnbull, Aunt Laurie, Nancy and David arrived on Wednesday.  They had some traffic in Knoxville, so our original plan to eat at PF Changs for Laurie's 21st birthday was slightly altered.  We ended up having spaghetti, salad, green beans, corn and garlic bread at our house.  I made too much sauce, so Phillip, Ellen and I have been eating a lot of spaghetti this week.  It worked out well that everyone came over - except the birthday girl couldn't make it!  Ellen enjoyed reading with her Nana and Great Aunt.  It was nice visiting and catching up with everyone.  George and Lucy loved it too :)

On Thursday Kendra came over bright and early to play with Ellen while Phillip and I went to work.  They met up with the rest of the gang and went to a neat park where Ellen had fun playing (they did other things but I am not sure what - I will find out).  Phillip worked a half day and I was able to meet everyone for lunch - so we all (except David, who was with friends all day) went to Panera in Green Hills.  We also attempted to get Ellen's picture with the Easter Bunny.  No such luck.  At first she was saying bunny and waiving at him, but then the tears came.  She did blow him a kiss when we left.  I think the kiss meant,"I am sure you are a good person, I just don't want to make direct eye contact with you or sit in your lap."  Since we were close to my work, I showed off Ellen around the office.  Then I had to get back to work.  Wish I could have taken a half day too.  Thursday evening we met for dinner at Pei Wei, got rained on/drenched and then Kendra, Nancy, Grandma and Aunt Laurie went to see Laurie in Sing-A-Rama at Lipscomb.  We heard it was great.  Wish we could have gone too.

I did not get very many pictures and some of the ones I got did not turn out well (lighting issues and old camera issues).  We are so glad Nancy, David, Grandma and Aunt Laurie were able to come to Tennessee.  We will miss you!
