Weekend Pictures

Bye Bye Highchair!  Hello Booster Seat!
(Notice Lucy hanging around hoping for a little snack)

We had a great weekend.  It was hot, so we headed to our neighborhood pool to cool off.  We also enjoyed some shopping during this tax free weekend.  Purchases included Ellen's first "real" pair of shoes.  We experienced the madness that is Stride Rite for the first time today.  But we got good shoes on sale (which was still a lot to me!) and didn't have to pay tax - so we are pleased.   Other weekend activities:  ate lunch with Aunt Kendra, got my car tested for emissions so I can renew my tags, went to the vet to get more heartworm medicine for the dogs and Ellen went to the 12-18 month Sunday School class for the first time this morning.  She didn't do so well during worship, but she enjoyed class and we are excited to have her in a Bible class with a wonderful teacher.  She and I were going to class together, which was good, but it is definitely time for Ellen to be with other children around her same age.  Other news... Ellen will be moving up to First Steps at daycare when she turns 1 and so the transition begins tomorrow.  Her teacher is going to start having her follow the same schedule she will be on once she is promoted.  It seems a lot different than what she is used to, but they say it is harder on the parents than it is the child.  I know she will adapt but I don't want her pushed into growing up too fast.  She is still a baby.  But I will deal with it and keep praying about it.  It makes it more bittersweet because we really like her current teacher and wish she was still going to be taking care of Ellen.  She has been a blessing in our life.

Well, that is about all that is happening around here.
